intro

I'd like to share about life and education as well as to learn and teach English to reach Well English through Welcome English on http://wel-english.blogspot.com and all blogs linked to this. Sharing is one of the ways to keep learning many things...as well as gaining "something" from every single sharing we make. Special for WELCOME ENGLISH readers, WELL ENGLISH is what we need to achieve, to improve our English competence.

Politeness part 1

Our next step for easy English speaking,

Well, I am sure you would love to be nice to others, and that's how we should behave, anyway...

So, why don't we learn how to express that good manner?

Here is how we become nice and friendly to people:
1. Can I help you? --> offering: help
2. Can you help me, please? --> asking for: help
3. Can you fix it, please? --> asking for: help
4. Can we meet here soon? --> asking/inviting

Well, as usual....this is not as complicated as you thought, right?
Just be nice and speak up, by using this simple construction, if you note this carefully:
Can              +     S      +     V                             ...?
Can              +     S      +      V                          ......      , please?
                     (I/you/we)

For your practice independently,
why don't you try to imagine  situations where you'd like to offer some help to others, or expect others to do something for you, and invite them, as well.
As warming-up, let me help you with the following situations:
a. A girl falls down in the street and she gets injured, what can you offer to her?
b. An old man is crossing the busy street.
c. That guy is a newcomer in your neighborhood? Will you invite him to do something?
d. You find your printer doesn't run and you think your brother will be able to help, so what can you say to him?

now....be creative in thinking of similar situations. Happy learning, have fun speaking practice, guys!
